Beginners Harmonium Course

Service Description

This beginners Harmonium Course will help to establish you in practices and skills that that will create a strong foundation for you to grow in confidence and be able to lead Kirtan or simply play for your own enjoyment. Each week we will go through different practices and theory to help you grow in ability and confidence before learning a Mantra or Kirtan for you to practice throughout the week. What will be covered in the course: Explanation & outline of both the Sargum & Sopheggio scale systems How to learn any major or minor scale with an easy to learn system Scale drills & correct fingering Dyads, Chords & Chord Inversions Step notes Dyad Kirtans Chord Kirtans Raag based Kirtans Vedic Deity Invocations Opening & Closing Prayers This Harmonium course is an eight week container gathering each Wednesday evening from May 17th to June 28th at 6:30 -7:30pm online via Zoom The container will be supported by a WhattsApp group for you to post your learnings and recordings & share with the group to be supported in your journey. This course is perfect for beginner Harmonium players, Yoga Teachers wanting to add Mantra or Kirtan to their classes & new Kirtan Leaders starting out on your Kirtan journey.
